The aim of Talk2Me (T2M) is to increase peer support around emotional well being for young people, especially through social media. The programme targets Secondary School students from Forms 4 and 5 (aged between 14 and 18), when academic and social pressure are intense, bullying is often an issue as well and social media use is vitally important in their lives.
Through the programme, young people will develop knowledge and skills in peer support, including an in-depth understanding of one topic related to emotional well being that is chosen by the participants. They increase their ability and confidence to recognise and respond to issues among friends and peers, through positive social media and text messaging. Finally, they have the opportunity to plan and implement a sustainable project that promotes emotional well being in their school.
