Weez Walk 2023

Join Weez Walk 2023 to walk or run around the Hong Kong Island Coastal Trail to raise awareness on suicide prevention and youth mental health

We are excited to announce that Weez Walk 2023 will take place from 14 January to 19 February 2023! We would love for you and your organisation to participate. The route span 62 km around the perimeter of Hong Kong Island where you can, take in all the amazing sights and sounds of the island's coastal areas, from rural to industrial, from beaches to urban, this route has it all. This year, we will be working with TRAILME, a real-time tracking app, to add a new feature for competitive elements.

Weez Walk was established by Tony Bruno in 2021 as a casual event to raise funds and awareness of youth mental health issues in Hong Kong. Tony completed the walk in 12 hours and 58 minutes, a personal best that will be hard to beat! Because of the success of Weez Walk in 2021, the idea of hosting a yearly event open to all was born.

Weez Walk 2022 was an incredible success, involving over 700 runners, walkers and the occasional baby stroller. We raised over HK$2.1m from the event. More details on the story of Weez Walk 2022 can be found HERE.

The net proceeds from this initiative will go to KELY Support Group and be used fully to develop and deliver preventative mental health programmes for young people in Hong Kong.

Weez Project was setup in memory of Jamie Bruno, a vibrant and creative young man. Sadly, Jamie’s life was cut short far too young when he took his own life.  The Weez Project ‘s mission is to provide help and support for young people in Hong Kong who are facing mental health challenges, especially those who are contemplating self-harm or suicide. The aim is to encourage young people to know how to help themselves and their friends, educate teachers and parents to know more about mental health issues, and advocate for improvements in youth mental health.
