Social Emotional Learning Curriculum
The Education Bureau has been encouraging schools to enhance the awareness of mental health amongst the school community, increasing the understanding of wellbeing and strengthening resilience. Through this curriculum, students will learn and practice social emotional skills, including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship building, and responsible decision-making.
These skills will contribute to enhancing students’ mental wellbeing, resilience, stress management, and establishing healthy interpersonal relationships.
Our curriculum references top-of-the-line international SEL materials, incorporating localised elements to ensure its applicability and quick acquisition for students in Hong Kong. The curriculum design is flexible and can be customised to meet the specific needs of schools.
Together, We Flourish! and this SEL curriculum is funded by Link Together initiatives. The curriculum is offered free-of-charge to all secondary schools in Kowloon.
Please kindly reach out to us before 28 Feb 2025 (Fri) if you are interested in registering for the SEL curriculum. The curriculum will be delivered within the 2024/25 academic year, before the end of Aug 2025.
For registration and enquiries, please call us at 2521 6890 or send an email to contact@kely.org.
Curriculum Structure and Contents
The SEL curriculum is offered in three levels with 8 modules in each level. Each level is suited for students of different age/grade, and can be delivered in English or Cantonese.
Participating schools can sign up for FOUR modules, including THREE mandatory modules (Modules 1.1, 1.2 and 1.4) and ONE free elective from the same or other levels of the curriculum. The standard teaching time of each module is 50 minutes, but this can be adjusted to a minimum or 40 minutes if needed.
Module classes can be conducted separately on different dates or intensively on the same day, depending on the school's teaching schedule and needs.
