Youth Advisory Committee
We are recruiting 10-15 enthusiastic young individuals who are driven to make a difference in the mental health landscape of the community in our Youth Advisory Committee (YAC).
Over a 10-month term, these members have a unique platform to voice their opinions and contribute to the development of this project. They will also play a pivotal role in organising the anticipated Youth Wellbeing Carnival in 2025.
Becoming a YAC Member
As a member of the YAC, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the team and make a lasting impact. You will help raise awareness of mental health among your peers, promote positivity and wellbeing in the society, and inspire a sense of unity within the community. The role of the YAC includes, but are not limited to:

Meetings (attendance is mandatory) |
Time and Dates: 1. 6 Nov 2024 (Wed) 5pm – 7pm The above meetings are mandatory for all members to attend*. Committee may also schedule other voluntary gatherings throughout the year if deemed necessary. *Remarks: If a committee member is absent from any mandatory meetings without prior notification (at least 2 weeks before the meeting date) and approval, they will not be eligible to receive the committee’s Certificate of Graduation |

3. Recognition and volunteer hours
By attending all meetings during your term, you’ll receive a certificate of commendation and official proof of your valuable volunteer hours. Your commitment to this project will be celebrated and recognized.
4. Expand your social circle
Connect with like-minded individuals from various schools in your district! Forge lasting friendships and expand your social network and create a strong support system.
Age: 14-24 years old
Language: Ability to communicate and write in Chinese
Experience: While no prior experience is necessary, individuals with volunteer, event planning, leadership, or social media content development experience will be given priority consideration
Nomination: To apply, secure a nomination from a teacher, school social worker, or respected figure from a volunteer organisation or mentorship programme

Fill out the application form (also provided below) and get a signed nomination form (also provided below) from a teacher, social worker, principal or organisation leaders. You can also bring the nomination form to us during your interview.
Ensure your completed forms are submitted before 29 Sep 2024 (Sun) 11:59 PM. Late submissions will not be considered.
Selected applicants will be invited for an in-person interview between 8 Oct - 25 Oct 2024. Stay tuned for an email with all the details.
We will notify successful candidates during 29 Oct - 31 Oct 2024.
