Weez Walk 2024
Weez Walk is returning!
Walk or run around the Hong Kong Island Coastal Trail to raise awareness on suicide prevention and youth mental health
We are excited to announce that Weez Walk 2024 will take place from 20 Jan 2024 (Sat) to 25 Feb 2024 (Sun), with some exciting elements such as tracking and Weez Art.
We would love for you and your organisation to participate. The route span 62 km around the perimeter of Hong Kong Island where you can, take in all the amazing sights and sounds of the island's coastal areas, from rural to industrial, from beaches to urban, this route has it all.
Weez Walk was established by Tony Bruno in 2021 as a casual event to raise funds and awareness of youth mental health issues in Hong Kong. Tony completed the walk in 12 hours and 58 minutes, a personal best that will be hard to beat! Because of the success of Weez Walk in 2021, the idea of hosting a yearly event open to all was born.
Weez Walk 2023 united 550+ individuals to participate in the walk, covering a journey of 34,100km over 3425 hours! With the collaborative effort, we raised HK$1.7+ million for our youth mental health initiatives.
“The 8 of us decided to join Weez Walk because of the immense importance of the walk’s mission. We as students may have gone through mental health struggles as well, both at home and in school, and feel that this issue is underrepresented. Mental health is as important as physical health, so we wanted to join in and make a difference.
The walk was even more impactful than we ever thought not only to us but to the school community. We were able to bond as friends and talk about deep issues while walking. Things like stress, school, relationships and more. There were really open conversations in the spirit of an open sharing of mental health. In the school community, we were able to share the idea of Weez Walk and mental health with other friends and people. We were able to share with the higher-grade students about this and there showed their ever-growing support and openness to talking about mental health. Thank you to the organisers & staff, and our teacher for giving us a chance for the youth to support the youth.” - Marco Law, student participant

Weez Project was setup in memory of Jamie Bruno, a vibrant and creative young man. Sadly, Jamie’s life was cut short far too young when he took his own life. The Weez Project ‘s mission is to provide help and support for young people in Hong Kong who are facing mental health challenges, especially those who are contemplating self-harm or suicide. The aim is to encourage young people to know how to help themselves and their friends, educate teachers and parents to know more about mental health issues, and advocate for improvements in youth mental health.
KELY Support Group (KELY) is a Hong Kong-based non-profit organisation with the mission to equip young people with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to support themselves and each other.
