Coding for Life
KELY has been piloting a new coding programme in 2017-18. It aims to help young people from deprived communities in Hong Kong to develop life skills and resilience along with coding skills. Participants attend weekly, evidence based and interactive workshops that focus on a series of life skills including communication skills, self-awareness, goal setting and resistance strategies.
They go on to learn coding skills and practice the life skills acquired through group work and the development of web based resources (could be an app, a website or a forum for example). Resources will support protective factors such as peer support and drug prevention messages.
