Andrew Jones - New Beginnings
Dear Friends of KELY,
As we step into this New Year 2025, and the Chinese New Year of the Wood Snake, through this channel I want to take this opportunity to connect with each of you — especially the young people in our community who may be facing challenges with anxiety, stress, or mental health. The start of a new year is often seen as a time of hope and fresh beginnings, but it can also bring uncertainty for many, particularly when life feels overwhelming. My message to you is simple: you are not alone, and there is always support available.
At KELY Support Group, we have always believed in the power of connection and community. No matter how difficult life may feel, there are people who care, who understand, and who are ready to help. Sometimes, just reaching out — whether to a trusted friend, family member, or a supportive organisation like KELY — can make all the difference.
To the young people reading this:
I want you to know that KELY is here for you. Whether you need someone to talk to, tools to build your confidence, or just a safe space to share, we are committed to walking this journey with you. The programmes we run are designed to empower you to navigate life’s challenges, build a sense of self-worth, and discover your unique strengths. You are stronger than you realise, and you are never alone in this journey.
To our wider community:
As we look ahead to the possibilities of the New Year, I urge you to join us in supporting the young people in our community. Mental health challenges are becoming more prevalent in today’s fast-paced world, and it is our shared responsibility to ensure that no young person slips through the cracks.
There are many ways you can make a difference. Volunteering your time to mentor or support young people can have a profound impact. Additionally, financial contributions, and a monthly donation, allow KELY to continue providing vital programmes and services to those who need them most. Every donation — big or small — helps us to reach more young people and provide the resources they need to thrive.
This year, let us all commit to building a stronger, more compassionate community. Together, we can create a world where every young person feels valued, supported, and empowered to overcome life’s challenges.
As Emeritus Chairman, I am immensely proud of the work KELY does, and the incredible young people we work with and serve. I am equally grateful to all of you—our donors, volunteers, and supporters — who make this work possible. Let us move forward into the New Year with hope, kindness, and a shared determination to uplift one another.
Wishing you all Kung Hei Fat Choi, a happy, healthy, abundant and meaningful New Year!
