An Enriching Summer for Interns

The "2025 KELY Support Group Summer Internship Programme" has successfully concluded. Congratulations to the five interns who gained valuable work experience during the four-week internship. The interns also brought the voices of youth, contributing innovative ideas from Gen-Z, helping us plan activities better suited to young people's needs. Here’s the Voice from Interns:

Angel

My experience at KELY has greatly fueled my passion for serving youth by providing me with meaningful opportunities to engage directly with their needs and challenges. I gained valuable hands-on experience in organising youth work, which deepened my understanding of the importance of empathy, inclusivity, and active support in this field.

The KELY team was extremely welcoming and supportive. Despite my limited experience, they were patient and dedicated in teaching me valuable skills and knowledge that will greatly benefit my future career. I gained valuable insights into how an NGO optimises its service delivery to achieve a greater impact on its beneficiaries. KELY staff generously shared their expertise, enriching my understanding of how an NGO designs and implements effective programmes.

Christie

I gained a plethora of new skills and knowledge from the work that I completed, and I believe that KELY’s internship programme has shaped me into a more confident, pragmatic, and thoughtful individual. Besides the warm and welcoming environment that they upheld in the office, the KELY staff also ensured that we felt supported and well-equipped at every step of the journey.

Renee

I was granted unique hands-on opportunities that went beyond the typical internship scope, allowing me to actively participate in organising impactful events such as the Open Door Work Placement Programme and engaging in dynamic brainstorming sessions. These experiences have not only sparked my creativity but also fueled my passion for embracing new challenges in this field.

Tajman

The on-site events were highlights, allowing me to engage with students and professionals while seeing KELY’s impact first-hand. Whether facilitating discussions, assisting with outreach, or helping to design resources, I saw how even small efforts could make a real difference in promoting mental health awareness and resilience. This experience deepened my passion for mental health advocacy and taught me the value of teamwork, creativity, and taking initiative—lessons I’ll carry forward in my career.

Thank you to all the interns for their dedication. May they continue to excel in their careers and achieve a bright future!
